Kamsack youngsters between the ages of four and 10 years are being invited to register for a new learn-to-skate program that will begin on January 9. The course will be held at the Broda Sportsplex from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Duck Mountain Super League (DMSL) curlers assembled in Canora on December 13 to test their skills in the fifth draw of a round-robin competition.

As a way to try to make up for the late start in this year’s season, Kamsack Minor Hockey Association is bringing a power skater and skills coach to work with the players.

Three hockey players who evolved from the Kamsack Minor Hockey Association and are now among the best 15, 16 and 17-year-old players in the province will be playing at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack on Saturday.

Yorkton is on its way to being named the SnoRiders SledTown Showdown Champion for the second year in a row. SnoRiders magazine is a snowmobiling magazine based in Western Canada.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Yorkton Minor Football hosted its awards banquet at Yorkton Regional High School. The banquet recognized athletes from the peewee, junior and senior football teams.

The fourth draw in the Duck Mountain Super League (DMSL) of men's curling was played December 6 in Norquay, where all three sheets of ice were keen and festooned with local business logos.

Excitement for the hockey season is picking up as teams with the Canora Minor Hockey League play games for the league and some tournaments for fun.

Three leagues in Yorkton are looking for a new place to call home. The soft-tip dart league, hard-tip dart league and pool league currently run out of the Alexander Ross branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, located on Broadway Street.
