After winning gold in a tournament in Moosomin, Canora Composite School’s senior girls basketball team continued the season by bringing home second place in a “tough” tournament.

Ten women will be setting out on a 1,400-kilometre route through a portion of Saskatchewan in order to raise money for breast cancer treatment and research.

The Bob Lumley rink of Norquay won the Preeceville senior bonspiel held at the Preeceville Curling rink from January 10 to 13. Team members included Joy Hubic, Donna Lumley and Jane Perepeluk.

Saturday was to be the first time in 20 years that the Togo Terriers senior recreation hockey team played a game on home ice.

Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) has made Yorkton a permanent part of their tour schedule, and the city was the second stop on their newest tour.

Over the Christmas holidays, York Lake Golf and Country Club held a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for improvements to their clubhouse. Their goal was to raise $5,000 and they successfully reached their goal.

Honourable Minister Joe Hargrave has declared the week of January 22nd - 28th, 2017 Provincial Snowmobile Safety Week in Saskatchewan.

Gage Bush is a 24-year-old powerlifter from Yorkton. From Jan. 6-8, he competed at the Central Powerlifting Union National Qualifier in Ontario. Bush brought a gold medal back to Yorkton from the competition.
