The Sacred Heart High School Saints senior boys’ basketball team captured the bronze medal in the B Pool at the 7th annual York City Classic tournament last weekend in Yorkton.

The first full year of the Parkland Association of Disc Golf was an amazing one of growth across the entire region.

Last weekend, Yorkton Regional High School was one of twelve schools who played in the 7th annual York City Classic senior boys’ basketball tournament. YRHS and Sacred Heart High School hosted the tournament.

Ethan Holstein is a 13-year-old cadet from Yorkton. He is with the 2517 Melville Legion Army Cadet Corps.

Both Outlook High School and LCBI were the site of some exciting basketball action last weekend, giving fans a chance to take in some hoops at either gymnasium.

In their second-to-last home game for the regular season, the Outlook Ice Hawks put up a valiant effort against the visiting Delisle Bruins on Friday night, January 13, but it wasn’t enough to put them away before the game came to an end.

Over the weekend of Jan. 20 and 21, the annual Yorkton Cash Bowling Tournament was held at the Yorkton Bowl Arena. There were 45 people who entered the tournament of all ages. The tournament was open to anyone in the province who wanted to attend.

The seniors curling bonspiel held in Canora provided enjoyment for seniors around the Canora area. A total of 16 teams participated in the bonspiel, which was held at the Sylvia Fedoruk Centre from January 16 to 19.

The Canora Minor Hockey novice teams hosted a home tournament to encourage fun and friendly competition for youth hockey players.

The Canora Atom Cobras Black played two more games before reaching the halfway point of the season with a respectable second place in the league.
