Two members of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute’s track team distinguished themselves at the Knights of Columbus indoor games held January 30 and 31 in Saskatoon. Competing were Petrie Whitehawk and Holden Labelle.

It’s not often that a Yorkton high school sports team gets the opportunity to compete in a different province, but when they do it’s usually Alberta or Manitoba that they’re travelling to.

Yorkton’s Steve Laycock is heading back to the Brier.

Brody had a huge game and ended up with 29 rebounds in that game and he made those big guys look silly.

The Yorkton United U18 girls’ team combined with four Yorkton United alumni women to enter the Regina Soccer Association Adult Tournament this past weekend.

A total of six track and field athletes from the City of Yorkton as well as the surrounding area participated in the annual Knights of Columbus meet in Saskatoon on January 29-30.

A girls team from the Yorkton Regional High School and a boys team from Saltcoats topped the district junior curling competition held at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack January 29 and 30.

“Everyone enjoyed the clinic,” Kevin Chutskoff, president of the Kamsack Curling Club, said of the clinic that was held at the Broda Sportsplex on January 27.

A Swan River rink topped the annual Norquay Open Mixed Bonspiel that was played January 16 to 23 with 18 rinks participating. Out-of-town rinks were from Arran, Benito, Norquay, Pelly and Swan River.

Fourteen four-person teams are signed-up with the Kamsack Curling Club and enjoy curling at the Broda Sportsplex each Thursday night.
