The 2016 annual volunteer awards were presented at the annual Hearts For Youth Banquet and Auction held on Friday, Feb. 10th. Mayor Buck Bright noted that “Volunteers are the most important resource community organizations have”.

The entire student body gathered in the school gym on Thursday, Feb. 2nd for a very special occasion.

Windthorst held their annual Wreck Hockey Tournament this past Saturday with eight teams taking part including The Ponies, Cornthorst, Glenavon, The Goodtimers, Team Larsen, The Mild Bunch, Team Thue and Team Blaikie.

The most ordinary moments can become the moment when our lives change. For Adelard and Doreen Perras...a decision to to make a quick stop at a grocery store in Glenavon would set the course of their lives for the next 40 years.

Winning the bonspiel was the Wawota rink consisting of skip Duane Lamontagne, 3rd Paul Filteau, 2nd Cameron Husband and lead Bob Easton with 3 wins and 1 loss for a total of 39 points.

Enbridge Pipelines Inc. is proud to support the community of Windthorst and their Fire Department with a donation of $10,000, through the Enbridge Safe Community Grant. The funds will be used towards the purchase of a new fire truck.

There are a lot of different kinds of souvenirs that one can bring home from the Western Canadian Agribition. The one that Dave and Terri Rajotte brought home this year...is a dandy.
