Battlefords RCMP responded to more then 24 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23. Those calls included one false alarm and one false/nuisance 911 call. Wednesday 7:06 a.m. - Hit and run.

The Battlefords North Stars are pushing for the top spot in the Kramer Division after a successful weekend in Flin Flon. The North Stars won both meetings over the Bombers and sit one point behind Kindersley for first in the division.

It was a quiet 24 hours for Battlefords RCMP, with less than 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 and 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24. Three of those calls were alarms, all proved to be false. Thursday 8:06 a.m.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 40 calls for service/occurrences, including six alarms, between 6 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27. 2014.01.25 6 a.m. - 2014.01.27 6am Saturday 9:54 a.m. - Report of theft of gas on Highway 16 Bypass.

The president and chief executive officer of SaskEnergy, Doug Kelln, was a guest at the Rotary Club of the Battlefords Monday, sharing insight on some of the things that are happening with the crown corporation with Rotary members and guests.

Emergency crews responded to two vehicle incidents in the city Saturday. The first was a motor vehicle accident at around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Territorial Drive and Highway 16.

As a result of the City of North Battleford's budget deliberations, the traffic lights at Territorial Drive and 100th Street will be getting another turn arrow, but there's no indication when two other intersections needing upgrading might be done.

Jan Lindbergh came all the way from Billeberga, Sweden, last month, to visit his Canadian farm host family, Ray and Jeanne Cumming of Unity. Lindbergh met the Cummings when he came to Canada under a young farmer student program in 1976.

A structural and life span assessment on the Civic Centre, as well as an energy audit, has been planned for in the City of North Battleford's 2014 budget.
