MARCHEWKA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann (Kachmarski) Marchewka, late of Hafford and formerly of North Battleford, on December 12, 2011 at the age of 90. Ann was born on September 16, 1921at Redberry District, SK.

Enthusiastic, young musicians entertain seniors

Twenty-nine seniors attended a Dec. 15 monthly potluck supper at the Battleford Hillcrest Centre. They enjoyed a birthday cake in honour of Minnie and Ron Plum's birthdays. They both turned 90 in December.

Collision in North Battleford

North Battleford emergency crews had to deal with a collision at the intersection of Territorial Drive and Highway 4 south Dec. 21. The two-vehicle collision happened around 3:09 p.m., according to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services.

Rollover claims life south of Battlefords

A single vehicle rollover has claimed the life of a 33-year-old woman from the Red Pheasant First Nation. The rollover happened in the late evening of Dec. 22 on a grid road in the RM of Buffalo south of the Battlefords.

SaskTel employees give back to Battlefords

Employees of SaskTel in the Battlefords and district have given back to the community again through the TelCare Program. In total, North Battleford and District TelCare will be donating $18,225 to 15 organizations.

Children's Christmas party hosted

Children in Speers and area were treated to an afternoon Christmas party. About 15 children attended. There was colouring for the younger children. The group then made Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree.
