Christmas displays light up village

More and more Christmas lights are seen to adorn the homes in the village. The Waseca Recreation Board and the village council jointly judge the decorations and will be making presentations to the winners.

The Battlefords Skating Club sent five members to Bonnyville, Alta. for a regional open competition and the results were as good as they could be for the five representative from the local club.

Fire on Panton Avenue

A small fire was contained at a home on Panton Avenue Saturday night. The alarm came in to North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services at around 8:50 p.m. It was determined the fire began in the furnace of the home.
Midget Stars earn another split

Midget Stars earn another split

It was the third straight weekend of Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action in which the Battlefords Stars earned a split. This time the Stars were in Tisdale taking on the third place Trojans.

BINGHAM ~ William Latimer Bingham passed away peacefully in the Battlefords Union Hospital, North Battleford, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the age of 87 years.

Update: Battlefords RCMP are advising that Nevada Sanderson, who was reported missing from North Battleford has been located and been returned safely home.

I was talking to Teresa Kennedy, who is still in hospital, Wednesday. She is doing fine and getting stronger every day. Colleen Koski was to Saskatoon last week for a medical checkup. We are sorry to say Irene McKee fell yesterday and broke her hip.
