The North Battleford SaskTel Pioneers recently began a hygiene kit project in the Battlefords.

I am indebted to Joyce George for researching and writing a draft on Lydia and Ralph Salzgeber and the 100 year history of the Milbanke's business. It should be noted that Joyce is a fine writer in her own right.

Friday, Nov. 1 has been earmarked as Random Act of Kindness Day - a day to celebrate little niceties and encourage others to pay "acts of kindness" forward.

While academics are certainly the focus of every school year, Light of Christ School Division staff are also focusing on creating a sense of hope and encouragement for their schools and for their community.

Horray for Jaya Hoy. "Piano duets are in the air," (News-Optimist, Oct. 15) says Hoy and I agree. I love duets. I remember the day we got our piano. It was the beginning of our love affair with music.

After 16 years of hosting the Annual Old Time Fiddle Contest, in 2012 the North Battleford Western Development Museum decided not to continue.

Our first skiff of snow for this fall came Monday morning. The temperature was below zero so the light rain turned to snowflakes. It didn't last long and melted almost as soon as it fell.

This year North Battleford Comprehensive High School has grown in students, and the talent within the student body keeps becoming more diverse.

Slawko Kindrachuck of the Saskatoon, originally from Round Hill/Whitkow area, is being recognized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress with a Nation Builders Award.

The Town of Radisson hosted a special fall celebration on Oct. 18 to commemorate a bountiful harvest, a successful centennial celebration in August and to honour the Epp family with the unveiling of a bronzed sculptured bear.
