Love is in the air at John Paul II Collegiate. Every month, the John Paul II staff pick a virtue to be the month's theme. As one could guess, the staff fittingly picked this month's virtue to be love.

This week I introduce the final adjudicator for this year's Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival.

Sonningdale hosted another Valentine event, as they do every year. What can I say? Great entertainment, decorations, excellent food and great company.

Isn't life wonderful? I mean with this weather, it feels more like spring instead of winter. We'll enjoy it as long as it lasts won't we, folks? I think a lot of our tenants are out with their walkers or just plain walking in this nice weather.

The Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 met for a monthly meeting at the clubroom with only five members present. Plans were made to serve soup and sandwiches for the Legion bowling Feb. 25 and 26.

The Allen Sapp Gallery and Chapel Gallery have planned a member appreciation event not to be missed. Gallery members are invited to the Chapel Gallery Saturday, Feb. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Keith Bartlett and friends.

The Maidstone Legion members hosted a Kaiser and cribbage tournament Jan 28 at the Legion Hall. A small crowd was in attendance, but those present enjoyed the afternoon.

With great sadness we report of the recent passing of Joyce Wood of Lilac. Our deepest sympathy to her daughter Pauline Wood, and to Kevin and Carol Leng family of Ruddell and Saskatoon. Doug Johnston also passed away recently.

Over the last year or so there has been a problem growing that has concerned more than just a few residents. This problem has been the indiscriminate use of fireworks.

Monday, Dorothy Kissick was in Lloydminster to get new glasses. Sunday she was at the ice carnival to watch her great-grandchildren perform. Our deepest sympathy is extended to Ted Wesson and family on the loss of Shirley Wesson.
