2013 marked an important milestone in the life of the city of North Battleford. It was the 100th anniversary of North Battleford's incorporation as a city in 1913.

Between 6 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, Battlefords RCMP responded to 20 calls for service/occurrences. These included one false alarm and two false/nuisance 911 calls. Saturday 6:19 a.m.

Lauirie Lennie knew he had all 14 games right on his POOLS lottery ticket. The American Professional Football games were over, but still he had to find out how much his ticket had won. "The money is fine, but just winning is the best part," he said.

Battlefords RCMP are investigating an attempted robbery in the area of 17th Avenue and 102nd Street, which occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.

The detachment commander for Maidstone RCMP was removed from his command Dec. 5 after information was received by senior management that there may have been inappropriate workplace behaviour.

There was no taking it easy over the Christmas interlude for Battlefords RCMP, as officers responded to 50 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
