There was cause for celebration at Battleford Town Council Jan. 23, as the Town gave awards to employees and volunteers for long records of service. Twelve volunteers and employees earned awards for service.

It is an important department in the city and to improve its service, is going through some changes. The Humboldt Fire Department (HFD) will be making a few improvements this year.

One of what is expected to be a wave of applications for rent-free space at the new CUPlex has made its way to council. An application came to North Battleford council Jan.
