Fans who have had to put up with the lousy sound at Battlefords North Stars games at the Civic Centre won't have to wait long for an improvement.

The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings were on the road in Saskatoon Thursday for their latest contest. Unfortunately, they dropped a close 18-14 decision to Tommy Douglas at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.

North Battleford Comprehensive High School Junior Vikings girls’ volleyball won the junior volleyball tournament hosted at their school. Action took place Friday and Saturday and the Vikings had two teams in action — the white team and the grey team.

The Battlefords North Stars didn't look the least bit rusty Friday night at home against the Humboldt Broncos.

The Battlefords Stars were in Saskatoon Friday night in midget AAA action against the Saskatoon Blazers, but came out on the short end of a 3-1 final score. Rylan Nivon opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the game to make it 1-0 Blazers.

Dig deep to keep games close

The Battlefords Roller Derby League was back in action Saturday night at the Agriplex, where the Rubby Rollers took on the Rotten Angels.
