The Battlefords chapter of Special Olympics Saskatchewan met Monday evening for the second time with a focus on volunteer and athlete registration and program development.

Special teams and a big effort from one of their rookies were the keys to success for the Battlefords Stars Thursday night.

It was not a close game Friday night as the high-flying Marion Graham Falcons completely shut down the North Battleford Comprehensive Vikings. The Vikings were beaten 29-0 in a game in which most of the points were scored in the first half.

After his team has started the season 1-4, no one can accuse Kevin Hasselberg, general manager and coach of the Battlefords North Stars, of standing pat.
