TISDALE — This year’s batch of graduates at Tisdale Middle & Secondary school are described as supportive, bright, driven and mature.

MELFORT — A mere hour before Carter Fettes, the valedictorian for the Melfort and Unit Comprehensive Collegiate, gave his speech, he was focused on the future.

NIPAWIN — A new group in Nipawin is trying to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous residents. Reconciliation Nipawin held its debut event, a blanket exercise designed to help teach 500 years of history in three hours.

TISDALE — Tisdale RCMP seized what’s strongly suspected to be crystal methamphetamine at a traffic stop. The June 9 stop lead to a search warrant being performed on a Tisdale residence, where more of the substance was found.

NIPAWIN — An innovative agreement to share property taxes from any new industrial development to help pay for infrastructure is dead.

NIPAWIN — A building for the gymnastics club and a group home will take up two of the three lots of a new subdivision approved by Nipawin council. The subdivision is located on 10th Avenue West. It was approved at the June 25 meeting.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Chamber of Commerce is adding something new to the mix for its summer events – a street fair and sidewalk sale. The street fair will be held July 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TISDALE — The skate park to be built in Tisdale has a new name – and a new location. “We are naming the park after Raelene Franklin,” said Mandy Russell, a member of the Tisdale Kinettes.

TISDALE — The Tisdale U16 B Riverdogs placed second at their own tournament, while the Melfort Spirit placed fourth.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin council wants public input on a proposal that will restrict where cannabis shops can be located.
