Sacred Heart and Esterhazy were both competing over the weekend at the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) senior curling championships. Both teams qualified for the regional playdowns in Raymore.

During the 2012 SaskPower Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Chantelle Eberle was among the rinks competing for the top prize in that tournament.

Coming off a 66-37 loss in Foam Lake on Tuesday, the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) senior girls' basketball team came up with some strong basketball on the weekend.

A 5-1 deficit heading into the final frame proved to be a little too much for the Yorkton AAA Harvest to overcome Feb. 8, their fourth-last game of the AAA season.

High Impact Wrestling hits the city again Thursday, Feb. 23, and it will offer something special as midget wrestlers will be part of the card. Headlining the match will be Short Sleeve Sampson from Syracuse, NY.

The Novice Clean Spot Yorkton Terriers and Thorsness Terriers played each other in the 'B' final of the weekend hockey tournament.

The Terriers remain in second place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Sherwood Conference. Weyburn sits atop the league with 74 points, followed by the Terriers with a record of 31-20-2-3 for 67 points.

The Harlem Crowns basketball team performed to a good sized crowd at the Yorkton Regional High School last Wednesday. The Crowns are on a cross-country tour and the YRHS gym was on their list of stops.

The Yorkton Terriers play their last home game of the season tonight against the LaRonge Icewolves. Game time is 7:30 p.m., at the Farrell Agencies Arena. They close out the season on Saturday when they play in Notre Dame.

The Yorkton Elementary School Sports Association held their city wide badminton tournament last Tuesday afternoon at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre.
