2012 is now in the books, and as we did last year at this same time, we are all gazing into the crystal ball to see what 2013 has in store.

2012 will be remembered as a historic year in the history of North Battleford, as the Credit Union CUPlex was completed.

A number of former Battlefords Midget Stars and local hockey players have made their way across the border and joined teams in the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League.

The first instinct many will have is to say 2012 was a great year in the Battlefords, citing the completion of the Credit Union CUPlex and the twinning of Highway 4 as highlights of a year that will surely be celebrated for years to come.

2012 was an active year for emergency personnel as they responded to a number of incidents throughout the year. Among those responding were fire, EMS, police and bylaw enforcement members.

Once again there was no shortage of news throughout an active 2012 at North Battleford City Hall.
