The local cheerleading community in North Battleford is planning an event to raise bullying awareness. The event is being held in the wake of the death of Amanda Todd, Oct. 10.

If you enjoy potluck suppers, you had better move to Sonningdale. I've never been to so many. The last one I attended was on Sept. 30. It was the big birthday bash, where those from ages 80 down to 50 were celebrated. A good time was had by all.

For over 30 years I have been a proud resident of our beautiful historic town of Battleford. I have been a member of our Volunteer Fire Department for the last 12 years, and a Table Mountain Ski Patrol for three.

Since building our home in Battleford 30 years ago, my wife and I have been involved in sports, playing ball and hockey and coaching many levels of hockey including the North Stars.

A truck and camper parked on the 1100 block of 105th street was vandalized Oct. 7. A boy was struck by a black SUV or mini van at the intersection of 21st Street and 1st Avenue in Battleford Oct. 9 at approximately 8:45 a.m.
