The 35th season of North Battleford Comprehensive High School Viking football was completed Tuesday night, as the junior and senior teams, their coaches, parents and supporters gathered for the annual awards banquet.

Paradise Hill hosted the 3A girls championship on the weekend, but it was another Northwest team earning a medal and carrying a perfect record into the final.

They faltered a little in Yorkton, but recovered back on home ice. The Humboldt Broncos played the Yorkton Terriers on November 18 in Yorkton, falling to the home team 4-1.

The Senior Boys' 2A Volleyball Regionals was held in Muenster on November 19. Muenster didn't place in the tournament but will be hosting Provincials on November 26.

Exhausting and rewarding. That's how Dean Brockman, head coach and general manager of the Humboldt Broncos described his time on the coaching team of Team Canada West at the 2011 World Junior A Challenge in Langley, British Columbia November 7-13.

The Phoenix Sports Bantam AA Barons played twice and came within a goal of tarnishing North East's perfect record. The Barons trailed 3-0, but eventually stormed back 5-4 with five minutes left.

The defending North Saskatchewan River Hockey League champs have started the new season right where they left off last year. The St. Walburg Eagles have jumped out to a perfect 4-0-0 start to the season after two more wins on the weekend.

Some kids from Muenster spent a weekend in much warmer temperatures than we had here in Saskatchewan.

It is a dream come true for a former Humboldt resident. Brian Munz is now the voice of the newest addition to the NHL - the Winnipeg Jets.

The Humboldt Broncos continued their winning ways last week. The Broncos took on the Nipawin Hawks on November 16 for the second game in a row, once again on home ice at the Elgar Petersen Arena.
