Tuesday marked the final night of the regular season for the eight teams in the North Battleford Touch Football League, as four of those teams were in action.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League announced the recipients of the players of the week for Oct. 2 to 9, producing a new batch of names who produced on the ice. The defenceman of the week honours went to Tyson Newell.

It was the biggest attended dart tournament in North Battleford with more than 30 participants in the Legion Hall in North Battleford Saturday. Along with a handful of locals players from across the province and event as far as Calgary competed.

APM Construction Service has been on the CUPlex site for nearly 15 months and Friday they took the opportunity to give back to the CUPlex Raise the Roof project.

Mega-Volley has come and gone for another year in Maidstone. The popular tournament is played on courts in the Maidstone arena, the high school and the elementary gyms. The first weekend is for senior play and the second is for junior.

The Battlefords North Stars are in the middle of a five-game road stretch and entering Tuesday's game in Nipawin they were 3-0 on the road. They are perfect on the road no more.

It was an unsuccessful week for the Humboldt Broncos as they hit the road for three games between September 27 and October 1. The team failed to come up with a win in any of their games, though two came within one point.

As of Thursday evening, just four games remained in the North Battleford Touch Football League and final league standings are still yet to be determine. The Rhinos all but locked up second place with a win Tuesday over the Broncos with a 42-12 score.

The impressive bounce back season for North Battleford's Andrew Albers continues, as the local left handed pitcher is currently in Panama City, Panama playing with team Canada in the International Baseball Federation World Cup.

The pre-district cross country running meet was held in Middle Lake on September 27.
