HMR Sport Horse Club hosted a dressage clinic at Hidden Meadows Ranch near North Battleford Aug 3 and 4 D.J. Cairns from Grayson was the instructor.

Regina born Colin James has come a long way since his self- titled debut album in 1988. Since that time he has amassed numerous awards and a string of hits that has propelled James to icon status category in Canada.

Jules J. Hamelin was born in 1883 to Olivier and Eleanore (Martin) at St. Polycarpe, Que., which was located 40 miles southwest of Montreal. He and his four brothers and three sisters grew up on a 100-acre farm.

The community is swinging into the fall season with a variety of events. Starting with something for the youngsters, there is a Kids' Lego Club Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the North Battleford Library from 4 to 5 p.m. It's for kids aged six to 12.

A fundraiser that ran for the month of August at the Super A in Battleford has resulted in a $2,204.12 cheque toward a new building for the Battlefords Trade and Education Centre.

Jack Harrison Abbott was born Sept. 16, 1890, at Dufferin, Man. He received all of his education in Winnipeg. In 1906, at the age of 16, Jack moved to the village of North Battleford to apprentice at the O.W.
