Yes, the hummingbirds are feeding heavily, the crows are flocking, the grain is turning, swathers are working and school bells are ringing again. It must be fall.

SSAI's convention is over with for another year. My time as president has come to an end and Sheila Righi, the past first vice-president has taken over the reins and all letters and communications should now be addressed to her.

A little rain two days ago brought us some relief from the hot weather. The hot weather is forecast to continue for the week, so the harvesting operation will speed up.

The Maidstone Museum annual corn roast and antique show was held Labour Day. The weatherman co-operated and gave up a warm, sunny, summer day. There were eight antique vehicles on display from locally, North Battleford and Lloydminster.

As part of this series of first person adventures into the unknown, I have been known to take some rides in various interesting vehicles. I took a ride in one of the new transit buses, and also in the new street sweeper that the City had acquired.

Students were back to school Tuesday throughout Living Sky School Division. Sept. 3 is recognized across Saskatchewan as Provincial Student's Day.

Cecilia Leona Gaudette (Coons) was born on July 31, 1941 to Cecil and Lena Coons (Ouellette) at Battleford. Shortly after, the family moved to Prince Albert where they lived for two years.

As of today, Sept. 3, the kids are back in school. Many high school students register today with classes tomorrow, but, officially they are back.
