Pumpkin carving for kids of all ages, from 2 to 72, was held at Paynton library. The carvers have a great time every year and get together for a harvest-style supper afterwards.

The frigid wind was no deterrent for the members of the Battlefords Art Club Tuesday. Many members came and worked on various projects. The lunch meeting was dominated with the final plans for the club's "Sparkle With Art" show this coming weekend.

Well? Was Halloween eventful or uneventful in your neighbourhood? And tell me, how did Nov. 1 sneak up so fast? A big shout-out to Amanda Ubell, of Dare to Dream Photography in Unity, for letting us use her Unity Minor Football photos last week.

Maymont Central School fall sports teams have completed their seasons. The senior boys' soccer team attended the 1A provincial playoffs in Middle Lake Friday. They had two really close matches. Their first match was against Lake Lenore.

The Waseca Rink Committee held a successful annual fundraiser last Sunday evening. Many people attended and enjoyed a delicious supper at the rink. If this cool weather continues, it will soon be time to flood the rink.

The Unity Composite High School journalism class had made headlines every year since inception, offering live streaming of various big events in Unity as well as outside of the community.

An award winning Canadian actor and comedienne will be on the Dekker Centre stage in North Battleford this weekend for a performance of her play, Miss Caledonia Dora and Canadian Comedy Award winner Melody A.

Sunday was the first day this fall that the temperature has remained below 0 C. A temperature of -13 C is forecast for tonight. Although probable snow was forecast for Saturday we missed it.

Thank you to Evelyn Cooper for the following as I was unable to attend due to work commitments. Another milestone was reached in Edam Oct. 4 as the sod was turned for the construction of the new 26-unit Edam Enriched Manor Inc.
