The Saskatchewan Roughriders are making another stop in the Battlefords. This time, the 2013 Grey Cup champions will be playing hockey. The Riders will make a stop at the Civic Centre for their Rider Pride Hockey Challenge Tour March 15.

The Battlefords North Stars handed out their 2013-14 regular season awards before Feb. 28's game against the Kindersley Klippers at the Civic Centre. The first trophy was presented to defenceman Jake Erickson of Mahtomedi, Minn.

Battlefords Sharks forward Jetta Derenoski was named the SFMAAAHL's second star for the month of February. Derenoski was an important piece for the Sharks as they recorded two overtime wins vs. the Saskatoon Stars.

The Prairie Storm and the North West Fury won their respective tournaments hosted North West-Storm Volleyball Classic held at the NationsWEST Field House last weekend. The tournament was for teams aged 16 and under.
