The Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League saw a total of six games in the last week. Dec. 14, the first-place Spiritwood Timberwolves defeated the Cut Knife Colts by a score of 4-1, the first regulation-time loss the Colts have suffered all season.

The North Saskatchewan River Hockey League saw six games over the weekend. Dec. 14 saw the Wilkie Outlaws play the Edam 3 Stars, the Turtleford Tigers face off against the Paradise Hill Hawks, and the Meadow Lake Stampeders play the St.

The Battlefords North Stars head coach and general manager Kevin Hasselberg has acquired 19 year old forward Troy Petrick from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL.

Home ice was better for the Humboldt Broncos as they faced the Weyburn Red Wings for the second time in a week on December 14. Unlike what happened in Weyburn, the Broncos dominated the play for the entirety of the game, posting a 4-1 victory.
