They were up against the top team in the league, but managed to score a win. The Humboldt Broncos faced the Flin Flon Bombers, one of the top teams in the country lately, on home ice at the Elgar Petersen Arena on November 28.

The Flin Flon Bombers hold onto top spot in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League standings, but are looking up at two teams in the Source Embroidery Power Rankings.

She is a force to be reckoned with. Rebecca Unrau, a Humboldt native, is playing hockey at the University of British Columbia (UBC) this season.

Eight games have been played in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League and all eight teams have at least one game under their belts. Glaslyn's first game of the season was Wednesday in Battleford against the Beaver Blues.

The Battlefords Midget Stars were opportunists Tuesday, as they hosted the Saskatoon Blazers in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Battlefords AAA Sharks were on the road on the weekend and faced the team they earned their win against earlier in the season. The Sharks faced Notre Dame twice and lost 3-2 in a shootout and 2-0. The Sharks now sit at 1-8-1-2 on the season.

The Battlefords Midget Stars were 1-1 over the weekend, losing, then winning in two games against the Tisdale Trojans Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Centre.

Many of the players on the North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior girls basketball team made the quick transition from volleyball to the hoops and it appears to paying off during the early portion of the season.

It was interesting to note that the first named team on each of the Nov. 27 draw for the New Horizon curling were the winners. So listing them as they were drawn - they are - Forester, Belyk, Guest, Lambie, Scott, Krismer and Horrell.

The Battlefords North Stars are not a team to make excuses, but an injured and ill roster made for a difficult two games against two Sherwood Conference teams.
