Before the Battlefords North Stars they took the ice against Flin Flon they announced another transaction. The North Stars traded 20-year-old forward Justin Waskewitch to the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

It was a mix of rookies and veterans chipping in offensively for the Battlefords North Stars on the weekend when they earned two wins against Bauer Conference teams.

This weekend, not only did the Battlefords Midget Stars earn two more wins, but they were able to cross one of their season goals off the list. That goal being: make it to the famous Mac's Midget AAA World Invitational Tournament in Calgary.

Troy Harms has been involved in curling from a young age and continues to enjoy the sport in the Battlefords, but the next major event to make curling memories for the John Paul II student won't be his own curling.

The New Horizons curled again Nov. 20 and it will come as no surprise to read that Forester, Rogers and Hagen were winners. Then also were Gregoire, Krismer and Raycraft; each having won half their games so far in the season.

This fall the Battlefords Scuba Community was the recipient of a significant gift from one of its members. Darren Erbach of Fisher Drugs presented the club with an Automated External Defibrillator.

The new Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre was put to full use over the weekend with the Marnie Eistetter Synchronized Swimming Figures Meet. The provincial Figures Meet was Sunday while a Figures Camp was held Saturday at the new Aquatic Centre.

Although disappointed with his race time, Jeff Bridgeman, now back home in Unity, thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand, last month.

The highest level of high school volleyball was on display at North Battleford Comprehensive High School for two full days during the 5A boys' provincial championship.

It was a light schedule for the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League last weekend. Just two scores were recorded, as Paradise Hill and St. Walburg squared off Friday and Edam faced Maidstone Saturday.
