Between Feb. 1 and Feb. 7 the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 56 calls. On Feb. 1 a false alarm at a business in Carlyle was responded to. Members attended and found the premise to be secure determining the alarm to be false.

According to the Solar Terms of 24 Seasons in the Oriental Calendar, last Monday, Feb. 4, was the beginning day of spring. Called "ipchun" in Korean, it means "start of spring" or "spring begins." The Solar Terms of 24 Seasons is a seasonal calendar.
