The New Horizons spring curling has come to a close before the spring arrived and long before the snow has left. In the morning draw March 19 on sheet one, the Hagen rink, who didn't count often but never-the-less did it big over the Forester group.

It wasn't ideal road conditions, but that didn't stop the Battlefords Bantam AA Barons from playing in Warman Wednesday evening. The Barons faced the Sask Valley Vipers in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League's North Division final.

The Lisa Chambers juvenile curling rink competed in North Battleford at the Northland Power Curling Centre March 8 and 9 and from there moved on to provincials in Shaunavon.

The final weekend of the high school version of March Madness is upon us. The North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior girls basketball team went into the championship ranked fourth and knew they were in tough against Moose Jaw Peacock.

It will be a dream come true for some local baseball teams.

They got off to a shaky start, but soon found their footing. The Humboldt Broncos were in somewhat of a must-win situation last week heading into Game 3 of their series against the Melfort Mustangs.

Round 1 is done. The Humboldt Broncos played Game 5 of their best-of-seven series against the Melfort Mustangs on March 15 at the Elgar Petersen Arena in Humboldt, in front of more than 750 people.
