Three games in three different rinks in three days and three more wins for the Battlefords North Stars.

The Battlefords Midget Stars couldn't score on the power play and were short-handed way too often Tuesday night, as they were in Saskatoon to take on the Blazers in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

Two home games, two wins for the home team. The Humboldt Broncos won both games at home November 9 and 11.First, they went up against the powerhouse Flin Flon Bombers, and skated away with a hard-earned overtime win.

Three local teams showed their volleyball prowess last weekend.

They're starting to gel, and it's starting to show.The Humboldt Broncos have been a start-and-stop team this season, sometimes pulling off big wins, and sometimes not, but doing neither with consistency.

It was a physical game Tuesday night at the North Battleford Civic Centre between the North Stars and Kindersley Klippers.

It was a night of fun and laughter, but mostly it honoured some major contributors to sports in the Humboldt community. The Humboldt and District Sports Hall of Fame banquet was held on November 10 at the Humboldt Uniplex.

It was a big weekend for the North Battleford Comprehensive High School senior volleyball teams, and because of their success at regionals they will be strong contenders at provincials this weekend.

The expectation around the Meadow Lake Stampeders, is that they should be near the top of the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League standings when all is said and done. They started the season off on the right track with wins Friday and Saturday.

This weekend is perhaps the busiest in the province for high school volleyball and the Northwest will be thoroughly represented at all levels, as the hunt for provincial and regional championships continue.
