One and one. The Humboldt Broncos walked away from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Showcase weekend in Estevan October 14-15 with a 1-1 record.

The first play from scrimmage was an indicator of what was to come in the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings final home game of the season.

It is one of the largest archery clubs in the province and the results from last year's provincial and national events simply speak for themselves.

One positive for the Battlefords Midget Stars is they are taking less penalties and working towards giving themselves a chance to be in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League games. The negative part is the Stars are still winless.

Rarely does a shutdown defenceman get the praise and recognition for the SJHL player of the week awards, but the Battlefords North Stars defenceman Travis Sparrow played well at the Showcase and earned the honour for the week of Oct. 10 to 16.

Oct. 6, seven students from North Battleford Comprehensive High School travelled to Unity to compete in the district cross country meet. This race determined who moved on to compete at provincials in Middle Lake Saturday.

Lakeland College Rustlers men's volleyball team are set to start their regular season of Alberta College Athletic Conference play and North Battlefords' own Kendall Albert will be front and centre on the team.
